WBCA Boys All-Star game to be broadcast live online Saturday

The 2010 Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association Boys All-Star game will be broadcast live online by iFan.tv this Saturday. Watch the best players in the state go head to head for the final time in their high school careers. Many will go on to play collegiate basketball as well and this is a great opportunity to see these athletes before they take the court at your favorite school.

Games begin at 9 am at the UW Fieldhouse and go throughout the day. The game schedule is as follows:

The games will also be shown on FS Wisconsin in tape delay with the date and times to be determined.

Also to be shown on FS Wisconsin are the Girls All-Star Games. The girls games are once again being held at Madison College. The schedule of games differs slightly for the girls:

Of course you can also attend the games live and watch these outstanding athletes in person. Tickets are $10 for the entire day and can be purchased at the door. All proceeds from the event benefit Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer (MACC Fund). The Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) has been a strong supporter of the MACC fund since its inception of the WBCA Boys and Girls All-Star Basketball Game in 1978. The games have contributed over $1,700,000 to the MACC Fund. Last summer's games raised over $106,000.

The Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Assocation (WBCA) is comprised of over 3,200 members who coach at the high school or collegiate level.  Included in the WBCA activities are the running of the boys' and girls' high school all-star games, with proceeds going to the MACC Fund.

The Goals of the WBCA are:

- To cooperate with the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association in the promotion of a broad and wholesome program.
- To help maintain the highest possible standards in basketball and the coaching profession and to work together for the improvement of conditions of Wisconsin high school basketball.
- To secure a better understanding of the problems of high school coaching and to place at the disposal of the coaches sources of information.
- To help resolve mutual problems of basketball coaches and to provide and promote for its members the latest coaching methods and techniques of teaching basketball.
- To promote good fellowship and social contact among coaches.
